  Important Notice on Plating: The following gold or rose gold item from Azari Collection is crafted from genuine 925 Sterling Silver and finished with a high-quality surface plating. Please be advised that plating is a temporary surface treatment, not a permanent change to the metal. Over time, the plating will naturally wear away, revealing the sterling silver base beneath.

  Azari Collection is not responsible for the fading or wearing of plating. By purchasing a plated item, you acknowledge that this is a natural characteristic of the product and not a manufacturing defect. Consequently, we do not accept returns, exchanges, or refund requests due to plating wear or fading. We do, however, offer replating at a discounted rate on products purchased from us.

  How to Preserve Your Finish (The “Golden Rules”)

  To ensure your jewellery stays vibrant for as long as possible, you must strictly follow these care protocols. The longevity of the plating depends entirely on how the piece is treated.

  1. Eliminate Chemical Contact (The 10-Minute Rule). Chemicals are the primary cause of rapid fading.

  • Perfumes & Lotions: Always apply perfumes, hairsprays, and lotions first. Wait at least 10 minutes for them to fully absorb into the skin before putting on your jewellery.

  • Sanitizers & Soaps: Remove your earrings before washing your hair, applying skincare products, or spraying hair perfume.

  2. Avoid All Moisture. Water accelerates the oxidation process of the silver underneath, which pushes the plating off.

  • Zero Water Policy: Do not wear your jewellery while showering, bathing, or washing hair.

  • Pools & Oceans: Never wear plated items in chlorinated pools, hot tubs, or salt water. These chemicals will strip the plating almost instantly.

  3. Friction & Activity Management. Plating is removed mechanically by rubbing against other surfaces.

  • Exercise: Sweat (body acidity) and friction will destroy the plating. Remove jewellery before any physical activity.

  • Sleep: Friction against bedsheets and pillows for 8 hours a night significantly speeds up wear. Always remove your jewellery before bed.

  4. Proper Cleaning & Storage

  • Post-Wear Wipe: After each use, gently wipe the piece with a soft, dry microfiber cloth (like an eyeglass cloth) to remove body oils and sweat.

  • Warning: Never use “Silver Polishing Cloths” or liquid jewellery cleaners on plated items. These are chemically treated to remove tarnish and will strip the gold plating off immediately.

  • Airtight Storage: When not in use, store your jewellery in an airtight bag or a lined jewellery box. Exposure to open air (oxygen and humidity) causes the base silver to tarnish, which lifts the plating.

  Summary: Your jewellery should be the last thing you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off at night. With proper care, your plating can last a long time; without it, it will fade rapidly.
